New garage motor, old pedestrian door key, three masters to one
Wednesday late morning at Tuscany - new garage opener motor had just been swapped by the door company, and the homeowner wanted the pedestrian-door cylinder rekeyed so her one front-door key worked everywhere.
We pulled the pedestrian-door cylinder (Schlage F-series), re-pinned it to her front-door key, swapped a stiff lanai slider deadbolt for a fresh one on the same key, and tagged her spare keys with the new bitting. She went from carrying 3 brass keys + a garage fob + a pedestrian-door brass to one brass + fob.
Master-key control - one key for everything - is the most common Tuscany rekey request. Standard for us; we re-pin in place rather than swap cylinders unless the cylinder is worn out.
